Eat Local and Healthy at True Food Kitchen

Blog· Food and Drinks· Reviews

During lunch, I almost always eat out but I have a battle every single day. I’m always asking my fiance, “where are we going for lunch?”  I never want fast food but I never want to go somewhere and eat a heavy meal that is going to make me feel gross all day long. I love places that offer a variety of items, from healthy to heavy foods.  I had a chance to stop by True Food Kitchen located in The Plaza at Preston Center (across from Sprinkles Cupcakes) for lunch and was pleasantly surprised with their healthy menu.

True Food Kitchen’s menu is based on Dr. Andrew Weil’s anti-inflammatory diet. I had no idea what that was, until I went home and did some research. Dr. Weil’s anti-inflammatory diet is a blueprint for a lifetime of optimum nutrition. It proves that simple changes in how you eat can help counteract chronic inflammation, a root cause of many serious diseases.  I’m not one to jump on diets or try anything too crazy, but I love that True Food Kitchen has incorporated this diet into their menu and you can’t even tell!

I highly recommend starting your meal off with a refresher. There a large selection of fruit, berry, herbal and natural soda drink blends to choose from. We tried the Green Arnie (Matcha Green Tea and Honey Lemonade) and Hangover Rx (Coconut Water Pineapple, Vanilla and Orange Juice), both were delicious. The hangover tasted kind of like a pineapple cool whip!

For starters, we tried the Albacore tataki. The fish tasted so fresh and practically melted in your mouth.

For our lunch, he had Grass Fed Bison Burger served on a Flax Seed bun served with a Kale salad. I opted for the Grass Fed Beef Street Tacos. The mean was so tender and had the best flavor. Sustainably-raised bison is higher in omega-3s, protein and lower in fat than traditional beef.

Not only was our meal delicious, but our server was more than attentive and I loved all of his input on the menu. If you’re looking for great food, head over to True Food Kitchen.

We don't get out too often for lunch these days, but I LOVE eating at the Grand Lux in the Galleria!

This food looks amazing, though – I'll have to check it out next time I'm in the area.

One of my favorite things about 2020.... businesse One of my favorite things about 2020.... businesses adapting and making things work! I was recently introduced to @savageburritos and I'm in love. Savage Burritos is the love child of Uncle Julios so it you like UJ, you'll love Savage. They are a delivery only service offering burritos and bowls from select Uncle Julio kitchens in DFW. We ordered a variety of items from burritos, bowls, queso and more. Every single item was bursting with flavor. If you like spicy, I highly recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken Burrito. 🔥 Don't forget to add on a Margarita pop - nothing beats alcohol and Mexican food delivered straight to your door!

I know this year has dragged on and on for many pe I know this year has dragged on and on for many people but it has flown by to me. I'm 100% sure it has something to do with welcoming Myles into this world during the height of a pandemic and keeping a toddler alive at the same time. I can't wait for Christmas morning to make memories with my little family (even though Christmas shopping isn't complete and I haven't even thought about wrapping presents). It will all fall in to place, it always does. We didn't attend our favorite Christmas events this year or get pictures with Santa so this random Santa picture will do and I'm 100% happy with it. If this year has taught you anything, let it be finding the joy in the little things ❤
The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Althoug The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Although things might be a bit different this season, we're still enjoying some of our favorite foods and traditions. This year we're incorporating ordering family meal kits from @chuysrestaurant for not only my family but extended family that we might not be able to hang with this holiday. It's a simple way to spread the joy with loved ones, eat delicious food and not forget the reason for the season. #ad #nachoaverageholiday
Family pictures are always so much fun.... this ye Family pictures are always so much fun.... this year we got to attempt it twice thanks to sweet Bryce. Thankfully the second time around he cooperated. As painful as they may be, I'm so glad we get these done every year. I love looking back at them and see how much we've all changed and how much the kids have grown!
Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We got our family pictures back and they look great other than the fact that Bryce decided not to participate. We got one shot with my entire family and Bryce is off to the side playing in poison ivy. 🤦‍♀️

Your child gets to fully immerse themselves into role playing any job they can imagine. From checking animals at the veterinarian, putting out fires as a firefighter, flying planes in an simulator, creating their own personal logo with Bic, or being a weatherman at WFAA - the options are endless! Kidzania activities are for ages 4 and up.

We felt very comfortable inside with their safety protocols. Temperatures were checked before entering. Everybody ages 4 and up must wear a mask. Hand sanitizer was readily available throughout the entire space. If you're looking for a fun outlet for your child to explore, check it out!
