Dallas-area ballet students are invited to audition for the School of American Ballet’s 2013 Summer Course on Saturday, January 12,   from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  The auditions will be held at Dallas Metropolitan Ballet, 6815 Hillcrest Avenue, Dallas(214-361-0278).  The times are as follows:

  • 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. for 12-13 year olds
  • 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. for 14-15 year olds
  • 2:30 – 3:30 p.m. for 16-18 year olds

Students should arrive one hour in advance of their audition time to register.  Optional preregistration for the audition is also currently available on SAB’s web site at www.sab.org/summercourse.  The application fee is $35. Auditions are for intermediate and advanced ballet students, 12 to 18 years old as of July 31, 2013.  All students should bring a copy of their birth certificates to the audition.  Girls must bring pointe shoes to the audition.

During the next month, more than 2,000 aspiring ballet dancers in 20 cities will vie for approximately 200 coveted spots in SAB’s five-week summer program in New York City.  Suzanne Farrell, Darci Kistler, Sara Mearns, Ethan Stiefel, Gelsey Kirland, Benjamin Millepied and Wendy Whelan are just a few of the notable dancers who attended the School of American Ballet as part of their formative training.

The School of American Ballet, founded 79 years ago by legendary choreographer George Balanchine and Lincoln Kirstein, is the premier ballet academy in the United States and trains more students who become professional ballet dancers than any other American school.  SAB’s former students fill the ranks of the New York City Ballet and other leading U.S. and international ballet companies.  Students invited to SAB’s Summer Course will attend classes at the School’s Lincoln Center headquarters from June 24 to July 27.  The 2013 National Audition Tour is sponsored by Freed of London.

For more information, visit www.sab.org or call the School of American Ballet at (212) 769-6600.

One of my favorite things about 2020.... businesse One of my favorite things about 2020.... businesses adapting and making things work! I was recently introduced to @savageburritos and I'm in love. Savage Burritos is the love child of Uncle Julios so it you like UJ, you'll love Savage. They are a delivery only service offering burritos and bowls from select Uncle Julio kitchens in DFW. We ordered a variety of items from burritos, bowls, queso and more. Every single item was bursting with flavor. If you like spicy, I highly recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken Burrito. 🔥 Don't forget to add on a Margarita pop - nothing beats alcohol and Mexican food delivered straight to your door!

Order directly from their site your from your favorite delivery service!
I know this year has dragged on and on for many pe I know this year has dragged on and on for many people but it has flown by to me. I'm 100% sure it has something to do with welcoming Myles into this world during the height of a pandemic and keeping a toddler alive at the same time. I can't wait for Christmas morning to make memories with my little family (even though Christmas shopping isn't complete and I haven't even thought about wrapping presents). It will all fall in to place, it always does. We didn't attend our favorite Christmas events this year or get pictures with Santa so this random Santa picture will do and I'm 100% happy with it. If this year has taught you anything, let it be finding the joy in the little things ❤
The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Althoug The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Although things might be a bit different this season, we're still enjoying some of our favorite foods and traditions. This year we're incorporating ordering family meal kits from @chuysrestaurant for not only my family but extended family that we might not be able to hang with this holiday. It's a simple way to spread the joy with loved ones, eat delicious food and not forget the reason for the season. #ad #nachoaverageholiday
Family pictures are always so much fun.... this ye Family pictures are always so much fun.... this year we got to attempt it twice thanks to sweet Bryce. Thankfully the second time around he cooperated. As painful as they may be, I'm so glad we get these done every year. I love looking back at them and see how much we've all changed and how much the kids have grown!
Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We got our family pictures back and they look great other than the fact that Bryce decided not to participate. We got one shot with my entire family and Bryce is off to the side playing in poison ivy. 🤦‍♀️

Your child gets to fully immerse themselves into role playing any job they can imagine. From checking animals at the veterinarian, putting out fires as a firefighter, flying planes in an simulator, creating their own personal logo with Bic, or being a weatherman at WFAA - the options are endless! Kidzania activities are for ages 4 and up.

We felt very comfortable inside with their safety protocols. Temperatures were checked before entering. Everybody ages 4 and up must wear a mask. Hand sanitizer was readily available throughout the entire space. If you're looking for a fun outlet for your child to explore, check it out!
