Be Kind to Your City Skin

Blog· Entertainment

We are almost half way through the year! Have you kept your New Year’s Resolution? I haven’t been working out like I want to but I have been working towards a healthier lifestyle. After visiting the dermatologist earlier this year, I’ve been taking care of my skin very differently. I recently read a survey taken by women across the top 40 cities nationwide about their skin care. and found their results quite shocking.

The most shocking statistic to me is that 63% of women who were polled know that their stress level affects the health of their skin, yet more than half are not actively trying to reduce it right now. Making a dedicated effort to unplug and unwind can make skin less permeable to external factors like weather and makeup. I get stressed often and there are times that I don’t even know I’m stressed. I get so busy with my daily activities that I miss all the signs. As hard as it is to actually do this, I think all women need to learn to slow down a bit. We live in such a fast paced world that we get caught up and don’t enjoy all the little things and don’t take proper care of our own bodies.

I highly recommend watching this time-lapse video that depicts the potential effects of city living can have on a woman’s face in just 14 days.

Simple Skin Care SPF 15I’m completely guilty of putting other things in front of my health but this is the year that all stops.  I know taking care of my skin has been one of the easiest things for me to do since it really doesn’t take too much time or effort. Once you make it part of your daily routine, it’s a breeze. One key to taking care of your skin is having great products. As I mentioned in my video, I use Simple Skin Care SPF 15 Sunblock . I’m trying my hardest to make applying sunblock a daily habit. Summer time in Dallas means that the sun will be beating down on my skin for the next 3 months and I want to do everything I can to protect it. I really love that this particular sunscreen is light on my skin and doesn’t have a strong smell to it.

I’m so excited to be able to give away SIX full size products to help you get in the habit of taking care of your skin.  Simple Skincare has graciously given is the following to giveaway:

  1. Simple Ultra-Gel Moisturizer ($10.99)
  2. Simple Nourishing 24-Hour Day/Night Cream ($10.99)

Best habit is to be sure to wash my face before bed – nothing worse than going to sleep with makeup on your face, or skin that isn’t clean! 🙂

Since we spend A LOT of time outdoors, we love products that will help our skin continue to look good. #SimpleSkincare is great for that and even better is that they don’t use harsh chemicals and crazy “mystery” ingredients no one can pronounce!

#SimpleSkin products are fantastic! I mostly use their wipes because they’re convenient to use and travel with (and I do a lot of traveling) and leave my skin feeling refreshed. Your products help keep my skin looking fresh and young.

One of my favorite things about 2020.... businesse One of my favorite things about 2020.... businesses adapting and making things work! I was recently introduced to @savageburritos and I'm in love. Savage Burritos is the love child of Uncle Julios so it you like UJ, you'll love Savage. They are a delivery only service offering burritos and bowls from select Uncle Julio kitchens in DFW. We ordered a variety of items from burritos, bowls, queso and more. Every single item was bursting with flavor. If you like spicy, I highly recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken Burrito. 🔥 Don't forget to add on a Margarita pop - nothing beats alcohol and Mexican food delivered straight to your door!

Order directly from their site your from your favorite delivery service!
I know this year has dragged on and on for many pe I know this year has dragged on and on for many people but it has flown by to me. I'm 100% sure it has something to do with welcoming Myles into this world during the height of a pandemic and keeping a toddler alive at the same time. I can't wait for Christmas morning to make memories with my little family (even though Christmas shopping isn't complete and I haven't even thought about wrapping presents). It will all fall in to place, it always does. We didn't attend our favorite Christmas events this year or get pictures with Santa so this random Santa picture will do and I'm 100% happy with it. If this year has taught you anything, let it be finding the joy in the little things ❤
The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Althoug The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Although things might be a bit different this season, we're still enjoying some of our favorite foods and traditions. This year we're incorporating ordering family meal kits from @chuysrestaurant for not only my family but extended family that we might not be able to hang with this holiday. It's a simple way to spread the joy with loved ones, eat delicious food and not forget the reason for the season. #ad #nachoaverageholiday
Family pictures are always so much fun.... this ye Family pictures are always so much fun.... this year we got to attempt it twice thanks to sweet Bryce. Thankfully the second time around he cooperated. As painful as they may be, I'm so glad we get these done every year. I love looking back at them and see how much we've all changed and how much the kids have grown!
Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We got our family pictures back and they look great other than the fact that Bryce decided not to participate. We got one shot with my entire family and Bryce is off to the side playing in poison ivy. 🤦‍♀️

Your child gets to fully immerse themselves into role playing any job they can imagine. From checking animals at the veterinarian, putting out fires as a firefighter, flying planes in an simulator, creating their own personal logo with Bic, or being a weatherman at WFAA - the options are endless! Kidzania activities are for ages 4 and up.

We felt very comfortable inside with their safety protocols. Temperatures were checked before entering. Everybody ages 4 and up must wear a mask. Hand sanitizer was readily available throughout the entire space. If you're looking for a fun outlet for your child to explore, check it out!
