Talbots Celebrates 70 Years of Modern Classic Style

Blog· Fashion

Shopping is one of my absolute favorite things to do. A few times a week, I find myself strolling through store aisles or browsing at clothes online.  I don’t always have to spend lots of money or buy lots of items for me to enjoy my time. After having a baby, finding clothes that fit correctly and my style has been quiet a challenge. I’ve felt like it was hard to find clothes that covered me but at the same time, I didn’t want to be too covered. At the same time, I need clothes for work and play. I need a happy medium which I thought was nearly impossible to find.

Talbots is celebrating their 70th anniversary and I decided to take a look at what they had to offer. They’ve created seven iconic pieces, one to go with each decade that they’ve been around and I’m loving what I see! Here’s a glimpse at 70 years of Modern Classic Style.

1940’s // The White Shirt

There is nothing more iconic than a white button down shirt. Talbots added a contemporary spin on the sophisticated staple with pretty pearl buttons and pleated-ruffle cuffs. I would wear it with a couple buttons undone at the top and statement earrings. I can’t get enough of the pleated-ruffle flounce and button cuffs. Learn more about the Talbots White Button Down.

1950’s // The Statement Necklace

Pearls are my go-to jewelry. They go with everything and no matter how you are dressed, they always look fabulous.  this contemporary take on the 1950s-inspired iconic pearl necklace features a face-framing, triple-tier silhouette. Ornamental flowers with pavé-outlined petals accent each side, and add pops of color. Learn more about the Talbots Pearl Necklace.

1960’s //The Little Black Dress

Every women has at least one little black dress. If you’re like me, you have a few in your closet. It’s a staple that every female has and you can never have too many! This LBD has novelty pearl buttons and a ribbon bow-detailed front half placket. Learn more about the Talbots Little Black Dress.

1970’s // The Slouchy Turtleneck

Fall couldn’t get here fast enough. Not only do I like the cooler weather but I love being able to wear sweaters and boots! This 1970s-inspired cable bouclé sweater pairs perfectly with a cute pair of jeans and a latte. I’m loving the color, it’s my favorite for Fall. Learn more about the Talbots Iconic Cable Sweater.

1980’s // The Bold Blazer

This hot pink blazer is tailored to achieve the perfect fit. I love that it brings a bright color to my Fall wardrobe because, let’s be real, all my Fall clothes are dark. This blazer has a comfortable stretch and a figure-defining banded back waist. Learn more about the Talbots Classic Blazer.

1990’s // The Signature Scarf

Wat’s more iconic than a luxurious silk square scarf? A luxurious silk square scarf with a nostalgic, yet gorgeous illustration of the original Talbots store. Add this scarf to your purse or tie around your neck, there are so many uses for scarfs! I love the way they add a bit of sophistication wherever it’s added. Learn more about the Talbots Signature Scarf.

2000’s // The Millennial Bag

I instantly fell in love with this bag. It’s so classy and adding the iconic square scarf made it even more beautiful. This purse comes with a removable pouch to store personal items or to be used as a wallet. Every girl needs a new purse for the Fall, right? Learn more about the Talbots Millennial Bag.

Talbots did a great job choosing seven pieces that are effortless and timeless. I need more staple items like these in my closet, don’t you? Which of these pieces are your favorite?

I know this year has dragged on and on for many pe I know this year has dragged on and on for many people but it has flown by to me. I'm 100% sure it has something to do with welcoming Myles into this world during the height of a pandemic and keeping a toddler alive at the same time. I can't wait for Christmas morning to make memories with my little family (even though Christmas shopping isn't complete and I haven't even thought about wrapping presents). It will all fall in to place, it always does. We didn't attend our favorite Christmas events this year or get pictures with Santa so this random Santa picture will do and I'm 100% happy with it. If this year has taught you anything, let it be finding the joy in the little things ❤
The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Althoug The holidays are quickly approaching! 🎄 Although things might be a bit different this season, we're still enjoying some of our favorite foods and traditions. This year we're incorporating ordering family meal kits from @chuysrestaurant for not only my family but extended family that we might not be able to hang with this holiday. It's a simple way to spread the joy with loved ones, eat delicious food and not forget the reason for the season. #ad #nachoaverageholiday
Family pictures are always so much fun.... this ye Family pictures are always so much fun.... this year we got to attempt it twice thanks to sweet Bryce. Thankfully the second time around he cooperated. As painful as they may be, I'm so glad we get these done every year. I love looking back at them and see how much we've all changed and how much the kids have grown!
Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We Can y'all believe the end of the year is here? We got our family pictures back and they look great other than the fact that Bryce decided not to participate. We got one shot with my entire family and Bryce is off to the side playing in poison ivy. 🤦‍♀️

We felt very comfortable inside with their safety protocols. Temperatures were checked before entering. Everybody ages 4 and up must wear a mask. Hand sanitizer was readily available throughout the entire space. If you're looking for a fun outlet for your child to explore, check it out!
