We live in such a fast paced World, it’s so important for us to slow down and enjoy the little things. I know I get caught up all the time in work and going through the motions that I find myself missing little moments in my life that pass me by without any notice. It’s hard to keep up with it all; being a mom, a wife, a business owner, a friend, and daughter. While I try to remind myself that I can’t do it all, it’s overwhelming still trying. Since my husband and I both own businesses and work from home, it’s hard to “turn off” our minds and truly relax. While I know it’s imperative and crucial for us, it’s hard.
Because we are so wrapped up in our house and work place, I try to schedule many outings for us and staycations. I love staycations because we don’t have to go far, we don’t have to find dog sitters and thankfully we live a jump, hop and skip from Dallas so we have everything in arms reach that we could ever want to do. Last year, I really wanted to check out Jade Waters at the Hilton Anatole but Bryce was only a couple months old and the last thing I wanted to do was be in the heat while trying to care for a newborn. This year he was old enough to partake in fun activities so we booked a room to see what it was all about.
I love the Hilton Anatole, it is a resort hidden in our backyard full of amenities including a water park, many restaurants, bars, an art gallery and more. (If you haven’t been during Christmas, you don’t want to the Hilton Anatole Peppermint Park)
Jade Waters, the Dallas resort pool, is included in with hotel stay! JadeWaters offers a tidal wave of features.
The Leisure Cove Pool is an adult only pool that is available on the weekends. If you want to plan a girls weekend or date night and don’t want to include the kids, this area is amazing! No kids are allowed in this section so enjoy a couple stiff drinks and lounge around without worrying about being splashed by your sweet child.
If you’re bringing little ones, there is so much for them to do! You can purchase a FunPass for each kid for $29. This will allow them entrance to Geppetto’s Marionette Show, participate in the Duck Race, Make fun crafts in the Kids Kraft section, Play Poolside Bingo, Take a Ride on the Express Train and Have fun in the Root beer garden party. If you don’t want to purchase the FunPass, no biggie. Your kid can still participate in the fun activities by purchasing them separately. If your kid wants to do it all, the Fun Pass is great savings so be sure to look at all your options.
There are two 180ft winding water slides in the water park that you and your kids can splash down. Once you’re finished riding the slide, hop in the lazy river and float the day away. Since Bryce is still little, I loved that there was a splash pad and kid area that he could play in. It was perfect for him to get wet and play his little heart out without me having to worry.
Swimming always makes me so hungry, so it was great that there is a Jade Waters Grill and Bar located right next to all the pool and activities. We enjoyed chicken strips and lots of drinks. I love that there is a real bar outside next to the pool. Who doesn’t love to enjoy a margarita or summer drink next to the pool?
A variety of activities like duck races, movies under the stars, pool parties and more take place on weekends for kids and families! Registered guests can purchase a FunPass to use during their stay at www.AnatoleKids.com.
While I could use an adult getaway as much as the next person, after a fun day at Jade Waters we were able to put Bryce to sleep in his stroller and eat at Media Grill. We always make a stop while we are there because the food is so good. We always start with their charcuterie board to share because it’s one of the best I’ve ever had. For this visit, I noshed on the Crispy Skin Salmon that was laid perfectly on sweet corn succotash, bacon lardons, bell peppers, and corn puree.
If you don’t have little ones with you, I highly recommend eating at Ser Steakhouse located in the Hilton Anatole. Not only is the food amazing but the view of Downtown Dallas is amazing. If you don’t feel like dining anywhere, Counter Offer is perfect. It offers grab and go dining such as sandwiches, sushi, juices and more. We always stop by there because there is a Starbucks located there and who doesn’t need a coffee pick me up.
If you’re looking for a toddler friendly staycation in Dallas or a fun getaway from the kids, Jade Waters at Hilton Anatole offers it all!
