Look no further for your favorite sushi restaurant in Dallas. As a fun test, I polled my fans on Facebook and Twitter if they liked Kenichi or Nobu. I wasn’t saying that these were the best sushi restaurants around, but I was curious to see which place people liked better. The majority of the vote went to Nobu with many people saying that Kenichi’s food had gone down in quality over the years. To my surprise, more than one person suggested Yutaka instead of Nobu or Kenichi. They said it was hands down the Best sushi in Dallas. If you ask me, that is a bold statement. It’s hard to pin down any “Best” in Dallas because we have a large array of restaurants. After hearing all of the buzz, I had to give Yutaka a try.
Yutaka is located off of Mckinney Ave and Boll in a small shopping center, don’t let the building throw you off. I arrived at Yutaka around 6:30pm on a Saturday evening. To my surprise, it was a very small restaurant that only seated approximately 30 people. I was able to snag the only seat left in the house at the sushi bar so thankfully I didn’t have to wait for a seat. Score.
After sitting down, we were promptly waited on. The waitress was more than attentive and watching the sushi chef chop fresh fish at the bar was more than assuring that my food was fresh. The fish literally melted in my mouth and had the best flavor. I was hooked from the first bite.
The price was a bit high for what we ordered but the food was so good that I will be back again (and soon). If you’re in Uptown, stop by Yutaka for some of the best sushi you have ever had.
