A couple years ago, I made a grown up decision and purchased a new Canon Rebel. This was my first dslr and has been perfect. I instantly saw an improvement in all the photos I took. All of a sudden my photos were very clear, you can see all the details and I no longer worried about the quality of photos that I was posting online.
Fast forward 2 years and I still use my Canon Rebel on a weekly basis. It’s been the perfect camera for me, especially since I was a complete beginner to photography. It’s been on my ‘to-do list’ to learn more about my camera because I know I’m not using it to it’s full ability. I admittedly use my camera in automatic mode with the flash off. That’s the setting that you will always find my camera on and it’s a bit embarrassing since I should know more than that!Best Buy recently offered a FREE PHOTOGRAPHY CLASS and I was all over it. I knew no matter what they would be teaching that I could learn something new. The class started at 10am and lasted til noon. I loved that the class was small and only had 8 people total! We split up into two groups, so there were only four people in my group working with 2 instructors. Everybody in the class brought their DSLR and had the Best Buy reps help us with any questions or problems we were having.
We worked on photographing action shots, portrait shots, and close up photography. Best Buy allowed us to practice with different lenses to see what difference it would make compared to our kit lens.
These free photography classes are offered in 75 Best Buy stores across the USA. All you have to do is sign up for the free class, no purchase is required! Not that you need another reason to go but you can also enter to win up to $1,500 in prizes from Best Buy and Sony if you attend a free photography class at the Grapevine, Dallas (Park Lane) or Frisco location on Saturday, January 30th.
I enjoyed the class and loved that they gave me a Photo tip book with the key items that they taught me so I can refer back to the book anytime I need to. Take advantage of free classes whenever you can, you won’t be disappointed!
