Let your four-legged fur ball romp and run unleashed on the grassy field of Fair Park’s Cotton Bowl at the free, seventh-annual Dog Bowl from 1 – 5 p.m. Sunday, April 7. From splash pools and affordable vaccines to adoptable pets and pooch apparel, Dog Bowl will serve up plenty of puppy-pleasing pastimes on Dallas’ most historic football field.
Activities will include a pet/owner look-alike contest (4:20 p.m.), live music by local jazz favorite Barri Pearson and more. Trainers, veterinarians and other canine connoisseurs will share the latest tips and trends in the tail-wagging world. Pet-product vendors will be on site offering apparel, pooch portraits, canine crafts, giveaways, plus information on doggy daycares, groomers and other pet care companies. (A nominal fee applies for pooch portraits and crafts.) Luv My Pet will offer special pricing on vaccinations and microchipping.
Operation Kindness, Humane Society of Dallas County and other animal rescue and welfare groups will be on site with adoptable pets.
Small dog owners will appreciate the special area on the field where puppies and petite pooches can play.
A misting tent and dozens of “dip and sip” pools will keep canines cool and quenched, while dog owners will have the opportunity to enjoy refreshments (including beer) and other concessions.
