Conveniently located off of Lower Greenville, Clark Food and Wine Co offers one of the best brunches in Dallas. I’m a huge fan of their dinner, so it doesn’t come to much surprise that their brunch is just as good.
The first thing that caught my eye was an awesome Bloody Mary bar. Lunch isn’t complete without an alcoholic beverage!
Their brunch menu has a large selection of options, everything from shared plates, salads and flatbreads. Everything looked delicious so my husband and I decided to sample as much as possible. We started our meal with the Texas Chopper Salad. This salad is topped with brisket, white cheddar, roasted corn, avocado, black beans, cilantro, radishes, jalapeno and topped with a green golden dressing.
If that state of Texas had an official Salad, this would be it. It was the perfect amount to split between the two of us without getting overly stuffed before our actual meal came out.
I have a serious weakness for artichokes so anytime I see them on the menu, I can guarantee that they’ll be ordered. Clark Food and Wine Co offers artichoke hearts that are lightly fried and topped with green goddess sauce and Parmesan. I try to tell myself I would only have one but if I’m going to be real with you – we ate them ALL.
When my husband saw the Smoked Fried Chicken on the menu, he automatically knew that was what he was ordering. The process starts by brining the chicken for 24-36 hours followed by three hours in the smoker. Once the chickens are cooled, they’re dredged in flour seasoned with pepper, salt, cayenne, rubbed sage, dry parsley and mustard powder before getting doused in a buttermilk-egg wash. The breading process is repeated twice before the chicken hits the fryer for an extra-crispy crust. The mound of smoky, crunchy, juicy chicken is served with flaky biscuits and a side of hot cream gravy.
Fried chicken is on the top of our list of favorites but we hate when there is more breading than chicken. Ain’t no body got time for that! Clark Food and Wine Co had the perfect consistency and wasn’t heavily breaded. Not to mention their Smoked Fried Chicken portions were huge and came with biscuits and gravy!
If you haven’t been to Clark Food and Wine Co, you’re missing out! Brunch is only served Saturday and Sunday from 11am-3pm. They also offer happy hour from 4-7pm daily with a variety of specials including 1/2 off signature cocktails, $2 off draft wine, $5 draft beer, $7 jars and 1/2 off flat breads.
