Kick Back and Relax at AMC Dine In Movies

Blog· Entertainment

Finding time for myself as a new mom is hard. I didn’t realize how much time I had to myself before having baby Bryce. I never had to think about anything but myself which sounds a bit selfish but it’s the complete truth. My husband and I did whatever we pleased whether it be hopping on a plane to Miami or binge watching TV all weekend. Becoming a mom has always been a dream of mine ever since I was little and when I got pregnant last year I couldn’t be more excited. Baby Bryce entered the world and my whole life changed for the better.

I had no idea what I was missing. This sweet baby boy came in to my life and flipped it upside down. I can’t wait to wake up every morning and spend the day with him even if it means just hanging around the house or walking aimlessly through the mall. We spend all day, every day together. It’s a rarity to find me without him. As much as I love every minute of our time together sometimes momma needs a break. Baby B is exclusively breastfed which means neither of us get a break from each other. The older he gets, the easier it is since his feed times are spread apart. Now that he is older, I’m finally finding the time to take care of me. I’m about 5 months too late, but it feels good to get out of the house and spend time by myself.

This past week I left Baby B with my husband and headed straight to the movie theater. I wanted to go somewhere that I could really relax. The Mesquite AMC Movie Theater has recently remodeled and it’s about 15 minutes from my house so I put my car in drive and went straight there.

No matter what, every time I visit the movie theater I have to order a large drink and a bag of popcorn. There is something about movie theater popcorn that gets me every time.  I love the theater had the Coca Cola Freestyle drink machines where you’re able to mix and match flavors.

When we go to the movies, it’s usually on the weekends and at night but visiting the movie theater during the daytime in the middle of the week is a game changer especially if I’m alone and enjoying my me time. The movie theater was squeaky clean and even had a bar. If I had a designated driver, I would have been at that bar having a few midday drinks. I’m thinking I’ll take an Uber next time so I can relax even more.

I couldn’t wait to get into the theater so I could relax on the large sofa chairs that are provided at the AMC Dine in movies. These chairs are so comfortable, it’s like you’re watching a movie in your own living room not to mention there is not a bad seat in the house.

When purchasing my ticket, I was able to choose which seat I wanted in the theater. I love that I know exactly where I am going instead of having to stop at the entrance and stare at the seats trying to figure out the best spot. Located at each seat is a button where you are able to order your food and drinks. The AMC Dine in Movies offers a full menu where you can get anything from a cheeseburger to sushi. Your options are endless with their made from scratch menu. (View the menu here)

I love that I am able to go to the theater, watch a movie and have dinner all while relaxing. It’s the perfect place to unwind and get your mind off of everything. It’s becoming my new spot where I know I can go to get away and enjoy some me time.

If you’re wanting to check our the AMC Dine in Movie Theater, visit with the Grapevine or Mesquite location. Since I had such a great time, I’m giving away a $50 AMC gift card so you can experience it too!
