Seafood was never a big favorite of mine growing up. I don’t recall us ever eating seafood, it wasn’t part of our eating habits. Unfortunately, that meant that I never learned to love seafood until I was much older. I love learning about different seafood and being able to try everything. There isn’t much that I haven’t loved.
There are many restaurants in Dallas that offer seafood, but I don’t trust all of them. I like to know that my seafood is fresh. Have you ever been to a restaurant and order seafood and it just doesn’t look right? The color is off and it has an odor to it. Yea, that’s disgusting and I try to stay away from restaurants where I’ve had that experience. One restaurant that I love dining at is Bonefish Grill. They recently updated their menu so I dined in to see what it’s all about.
I had been to Bonefish a few times before and loved that I could try fish there that not many restaurants carried such as Swordfish. Eating seafood isn’t always the cheapest option, but I feel like Bonefish is extremely reasonable with their pricing which makes it a bonus to eat there. I feel like I get my moneys worth.
We started out with their Cold Snap Fresh Ceviche. Their ceviche has chilled bay scallops, shrimp, fresh fish, vegetables, avocado, cucumber, jalapeño, citrus, cilantro served with warm tortilla chips. The menu stated that it would be served in a frozen glass made entirely of ice which I was extremely excited about. I was quite bummed when it was served in a regular glass bowl. Needless to say, the ceviche was so good that the frozen ice glass really didn’t matter.
The Ceviche didn’t look very large, but it could definitely feed at least 3 people. It could have been eaten as a full meal, if wanted. After filling up on our Ceviche, we were given delicious bread and a pesto sauce which is another reason the ceviche can feed way more than 2 people.
My meal was amazing. I ordered the Spinach Bacon Gorgonzola Atlantic Salmon which is topped with sauteed spinach, crispy bacon and creamy Gorgonzola cheese. The salmon literally melted in my mouth and was probably the best salmon that I have ever had.
Each meal comes with their veggie mix and a side. My husband ordered their Rainbow Trout for dinner topped with Bonefish’s new Lime Tomato Garlic Sauce. Delicate in flavor, this Idaho Trout has a tender, flaky texture.
Our dinner wouldn’t be complete without dinner. They were offering a S’mores flatbread that I couldn’t turn down. At first bite, I wasn’t in love with the marshmallow and chocolate on the flat bread but it seemed to taste better and better. We ate every single bit of the dessert and it was delicious.
