I got invited for the 2nd year to Go Further with Ford at their annual Ford Trends conference. Last year the conference was held in Detroit at their headquarters, but this year we went to somewhere on my bucket list – Silicon Valley. *Insert Happy Dance*
We stayed at the Grand Hyatt in San Francisco and I was highly impressed with the hotel. The views were breathtaking. Many of our activities took place on the 33rd floor which had a 360 degree view of the city. You can’t beat that, right?
One of the best things about the trip was that my sister was invited also. She is a tech blogger at DigitalMomBlog.com Since our first day in San Francisco was pretty quiet since everyone was arriving throughout the day, I decided to venture around Union Square to kill some time before my sister arrived. The weather was amazing – in the 70’s with the sun shining! Surprisingly, it stayed that way during our whole trip. It couldn’t have been any more perfect. My sister arrived mid day and as soon as she got to the hotel, we hit the floor running.
We only had about an hour and a half until we had to be at the hotel to leave for dinner so we ventured to the nearest neighborhood – Chinatown. We walked around aimlessly and stopped by a few of the shops. After our quick walk through Chinatown, we headed back to the hotel so we can leave for Pier 27. At the Pier, we chatted with other media members and got to hear Mark Fields, Ford CEO speak. He gave us a glimpse into what projects Ford is working on and what we can see in the very near future.
Listen to Mark Fields keynote speech below:
What was most exciting was that the next day we were heading to Silicon Valley to Ford’s Research and Innovation Center to see all of the technology first hand. We ended the night with a gorgeous view of the Pier.
