Any chance I get, I head West out to Fort Worth. It’s such a different city than Dallas and has so much to offer. When I make the trip to Fort Worth, I always book a hotel to stay the night. It gives me an excuse to explore the city and enjoy my time there without feeling rushed. After doing some research, I decided to check out the marvelous Omni Fort Worth. The Omni in Dallas is one of my favorite hotels so I knew the one in Fort Worth wouldn’t disappoint.
We usually make plans with friends in the city anytime we go to Fort Worth, but this time we decided to go on a whim without any plans for the night. The only plans that we had were for the next day. Omni Fort Worth has these great package deals that you don’t want to miss. These packages are booked at the same time you book your reservations. You can choose from packages to go to the zoo, to go the museum or even a romantic package where you get bed and breakfast service. We opted for the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens Package which included:
- Luxurious accommodations
- Tickets to the Botanic garden for each registered guest, per stay
- Packed lunch prepared at the hotel for each registered guest, per stay
- A welcome gift of one (1) keepsake Omni picnic basket per room, per stay
- Garden-themed turndown amenity on the night of arrival
I loved that all of the work was done for me upon arrival of the hotel. I didn’t have to think about making reservations, ordering tickets online – I just had to show up. Once I get checked in, I was welcomed with a fun cheese tray and a basket full of goodies for our picnic the next day. (Let’s be real – most of the candy was eaten before the next day!)
After snacking on our goodies, we got situated in our room before going to dinner.
Our room was very spacious and had ceiling to floor windows that expanded across one wall. I loved the views and all the natural light. One thing I hate about hotels usually is the lack of lighting. I have never understood why it’s always so dark in my hotel rooms. This room was bright without having to turn all the lights on.
I was starving once we arrived and knew we wanted to eat something filling so we opted for Bob’s Steakhouse. We’ve only been once before and it was delicious. We didn’t want to drive anywhere so Bob’s was the perfect spot for us. Surprisingly, when we arrived there was no wait and we were instantly seated. We enjoyed a few cocktails before dinner. I really wanted something with vanilla vodka and the bartender made me a wedding cake martini. I highly recommend trying it if you like sweet drinks. For dinner, I filled myself up on a filet mignon, loaded baked potato and the most delicious carrot ever. I swear it tasted like dessert since it was covered in brown sugar. My husband has asked numerous times to find that recipe so we can make it at home. It was that good. After dinner was finished, we walked about 200 yards to Whiskey & Rye to meet up with some friends. This bar featured local beers, live entertainment and lots of TVs so we were able to catch the Texas Rangers game! We got there earlier than we would usually get to any bar but it worked out perfect. We snagged a table in front of the TV and live entertainment. You can’t beat that!
We didn’t plan to spend our whole evening at the Omni but it worked out nicely. They had everything that we needed and wanted to do. I was pleasantly surprised when we woke up the next morning, I found our breakfast card (that I forgot to fill out) laying next to our bed. It said that if didn’t redeem it for room service coffee, that we could take it downstairs to the Starbucks for two free grande coffees! SCORE.
We grabbed our coffee and headed out to explore the Arboretum. We had such a fun stay at the Omni, I know we’ll be back again soon!
