Spring is officially here! This time of year is when we start working on all of our house projects whether it be weeding the garden or renovating a room. It seems that work is never completed at our house but I’m completely okay with it because I enjoy all the house projects and watching my house transform after each project. Although house projects seem to always cost a lot of money and take a lot of energy, it doesn’t have to be that way!
Since we’re always working to improve our house, I’ve learned a few tricks that I want to share with you.
Three easy ways to upgrade your homee,
Change the wall color
When we completely renovated my house, one of the first things we agreed on was repainting the whole house one color. Instead of the house being all sorts of bright colors that had faded over the years we went with a neutral beige color since most of our decorations had a brown tone. Painting the whole house gave our house an entirely different feel. No matter if you like bold colors or like it low key, the color truly sets the mood of the room. If you want to make a room pop, add an accent wall. If you want to save a few bucks, paint the room yourself!
Replace your appliances
It’s amazing how different a room looks once you switch out appliances. Ditch your white appliances and go for something sleek like the black stainless steel. I know that replacing appliances can get expensive but we ended up saving money once we did. New appliances are so much more energy efficient that I saw a noticeable difference once the new was changed out with the old. I’ve been crushing on the GE Built In Single Convection Oven. It’s currently on my list of things to buy. This oven has a 5.0 cu. ft. oven capacity so you can cook more dishes at once which means it would drastically cut down on my cooking time. I’m all about working smarter not harder and this oven would be a blessing to have in any home.
Doesn’t it look amazing? GE Appliances makes it easy when you’re upgrading your kitchen at Best Buy during the Great American Kitchen Event now through April 26. Also GE is offering free installation on all GE appliance wall ovens until April 29th. Totally worth buying one, right?
Invite over a friend for help
This might sound a bit bizarre but having a fresh set of eyes on your home and decor can bring you an entirely different look into your house. Since we live in our house and see the same thing every single day, we start to miss out on some of the detail or start to ignore the little things that are actually big things. The other day I realized I had a piece of decor that’s a fish hanging in my dining room. I didn’t intentionally have it there for decorations but I actually forgot to move it from when I had a coastal themed dinner at my house. No telling how long it’s been there and people probably thought it was meant to be there. Those small types of details can change your whole house. Invite over your bestie and don’t get offended by their opinion. Be sure to write it all down so you remember once they leave
Don’t let upgrading your home be stressful and expensive. You can transform your home without breaking the bank. What home projects are you working on?
