DeMarco Murray Raises Awareness and Money at Celebrity Waiter Night

Blog· Events

There are two types of charities that I really love; one that involves the Dallas Cowboys and one that involves kids. When you get a charity that brings the two together, you’ve hit the jackpot. DeMarco Murray, Dallas Cowboys running back, hosted the 2nd Annual Celebrity Waiter Night at Ocean Prime to benefit his charity Demarco Murray Foundation.

The event started off with hors d’oeuvres on the patio at Ocean Prime. A mixed crowd of all ages that packed in the patio. Outside while guests noshed on delicious delicacies, a silent auction took place with items of all sorts up for grabs.

There was lots of Dallas Cowboys memorabilia up for grabs, all starting at great prices.

Before we knew it, a line of Dallas Cowboys marched out in aprons to pour wine for guests and to mingle with the crowd.

IMG_0941Once dinner started, the man of the night started the night off with many thanks to his team and sponsors. He spoke about his charity, Demarco Murray Foundation, and how explained that he wants the children to know that they have a large support group whether it be for their academics or for athletics.  All kids need to know they have a people in their lives that are there to push them and DeMarco Murray is making sure that happens.

A few Dallas Cowboys took the night to help their teammate and friend to show up for this great cause. Tony Romo, Tyler Clutts, Doug Free, and Jason Witten were just a few of the players who were in attendance. They walked around, shook hands and autographed footballs for anyone and everyone who asked. I love that they were so personable and really showed up for charity.

Dinner was beyond delicious. Wine was served graciously along with our salad, filet mignon and dessert.

It was a great night to see the Cowboys helping their team mate raise more awareness and money for the DeMarco Murray Foundation. My favorite part of the night was DeMarco Murray pouring me a glass of wine.

What a fun event! The food looks amazing. But The Dallas Cowboys is kind of a dirty word in our house (my husband is from Wisconsin).

How cool is celebrity waiter night! I swear I’m terrible with names and only know them by their TV show name (I know the football guys don’t change it, but you know what I mean I think lol). I’m not too into football, but I wouldn’t mind hunky guys like them serving me supper! Haha.

This looks so fun! The 49’ers do a similar event here, called the Pasta Bowl. They all serve spaghetti and such.
