While spending the weekend in Oklahoma City, we planned to eat at a steak house and after some research we found Red PrimeSteak. Located not even a mile from Skirvin Hilton where we were staying, it was the perfect spot. I loved that we were able to walk from our hotel to dinner. (It was so close that I walked in heels from the hotel to dinner without being in any pain.) Upon arriving, I knew we made the perfect choice.
We made reservations a few nights before we planned to be in town. I’m glad we did because I didn’t realize it was the same night of the NBA finals when Oklahoma City Thunder was playing against Golden State Warriors which was being played in Oklahoma City! It was a busy night in downtown Oklahoma City but tons of fun. We were seated within 3 minutes of arriving at Red Prime Steak. The decorations were so sleek and classy.
Since we were starving, my husband and I ordered Mini Jumbo Crab Cakes that were paired perfectly with charred lemon aioli. Deciding what I wanted to eat for dinner wasn’t too hard. I was debating between two dishes and our server helped me decide on Pan Seared Scallops. After he told me the chef was from the East Coast, I understood why the crab cakes were so good and had to opt for another fish dish as my main course.
My Pan Seared Scallops were absolute perfection. The scallops were topped with crispy potatoes while laying on a bed of truffled corn crema and wild mushrooms. We shared green chile mac and cheese and loaded mashed potatoes that were both amazing and plentiful. Although our main courses would have been more than enough for the two of us, the sides were an added treat
Even though we were so full, there is no way we could pass up Warm Fudge Spoon cake with a scoop of homemade ice cream. I’m embarrassed to admit it, but even after all the food we ate that night, we were able to eat every single piece of that cake and ice cream. It literally melted in your mouth and quite addicting. I would highly recommend it!
We ate til we couldn’t eat anymore but every bite (and calorie) was more than worth it. The hospitality was impeccable and the food could not have been better. If you find yourself in Oklahoma City, add Red PrimeSteak on your list of places to eat.
I found this restaurant and many others on Adventure Road, a website that has lots of great suggestions for Oklahoma City and adventures on Highway 35. If you plan on taking any road trip on HW 35, don’t miss their website full of great resources.
